What is Pecha Kucha Night?
“Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each – giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show.

Pecha Kucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a† demand that seems to be global – as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 100 cities across the world.”

Pecha Kucha Night, devised by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham (Klein Dytham Architecture), was conceived in 2003 as a place for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public.

J.Phlip, known to most as Jess or Jessica Rose Phillippe. J Phlip is part of the Dirtybird crew and securing residency at San Francisco’s infamous Endup. Her releases and remixes include Claude VonStroke, Luca Lozano, Wasted Chicago Youth, on Dirtybird Recs, Dotbleep, Airdrop, Nightlight. She’s been one of our favorite DJs hailing from Chicago to San Francisco, this explains her unique musical finesse. She’ll be bringn the Hyrbid Booty Tek to Sacramento’s Lounge On 20 on October 22, 2009. Featuring DJs, Alex-T and Sukh.

Check out this cool app for our fellow visual designers, myPantone. Looks like it can be helpful for web, fashion, and interior decorators as a “color memory” app. You can create your own color palettes, it also gives you harmony and cross-reference colors. We know screen colors don’t match printed colors, so looks like we’ll have to keep updating our PMS guides. Great, now we can facebook color schemes to my friends, just don’t make a fan page, I won’t add you.
