One of our favorite DJs, DJ Michelangelo, will be making his first San Francisco appearance at Vessel(SF) on March 11th, 2010 for Base Italy. The man, the myth, who wears many hats…..
Michelangelo (yes his real name) or Mr. Ferrari, is known for silly antics, positive energy, and oh yea…MONSTER tunes. He prides himself on bringing the best of many genres, past and present with an extensive selection which spans from the late 90’s to today. You can find him doing his thing around the globe yet he still claims it’s “just a hobby”. A Danny Tenaglia understudy, ready to reach new plateaus in the DJ booth and studio for 2010. If you happen to be arriving to the Terrace at Space, Ibiza, WMC in Miami or in NYC, be sure to catch the fun at his events.

We got to bring out our acid jazz/electronic collection for the, “OMG I so need a glass of wine or I’m gonna sell my kids” Launch Party in Sacramento on Saturday, Feb 27th, 2010. The OMG idea came when Christine Trice, mother of two out of frustration(shoot i would too. lol) sat down had a glass of wine and started the facebook group which has grown to over 70,000 members. The OMG launch party was held at the Penthouse of the L St. Lofts, an amazing view of the capital city served by L Wine Lounge, featured wine by Kovacs Winery. Featured tracks of the evening were Medeski, Martin & Wood, Thievery Corporation, Paul Kalkbrenner, Cinematic Orchestra, Bitter:Sweet to name a few, music spun by Alex Trujillo (ALX-T).

Our first remixer, ‘Body Trip’, Luigi Rocca (Marshall) hits #1 on Beatport with Filtered(Hotfingers). We were first drawn to Marshall’s clean and hard tech beats on myspace(remember those days) on Italo Business, Stereo Seven Plus, 303Lovers now the red hot label, Hotfingers. Props to Marshall for his continued quality beats and contribution to underground music.
Plastikman(Richie Hawtin) & Derivative[Visual Thinking] has teamed up to open a visuals contest to designers/animators for an upcoming live performance. TouchDesigner, is the technology that drives the visual element. Watch these videos for more info. We’ll check back in later, once we have done a full examination of this contest.
